Dating from the Edwardian era, a lapis lazuli and diamond brooch. A large circular, cabochon cut lapis lazuli stone, measuring approx. 28.00mm diameter x 10.10mm deep, rub over set to a circular white collet with trefoil/scroll decorated panels to the compass points. Each panel is grain set with three rose cut diamonds, measuring approx. 1.00mm diameter.

 

Suspending from the brooch is a foliate design, open wirework dropper, millegrain set with three old European cut diamonds, measuring approx. 2.80mm to 2.00mm diameter, and additionally grain set with six rose cut diamonds, measuring approx. 1.00mm diameter and three 8-cut diamonds measuring approx. 1.50mm diameter.

 

The brooch fastens with a safety pin style fitting. Testing as 18ct white gold and platinum.

 

Estimated total diamond weight 0.25ct, approx. colour I/J/K, approx. clarity SI. Date of the brooch circa 1900-1910. Weight 15.05gms.
